Human Clinical Trials

It is important to note that many pre-clinical studies have been conducted testing NR in various model systems. In 2015, the first human clinical studies were completed and the results demonstrated that NR safely and effectively boosts levels of NAD in healthy human volunteers.

In addition to these studies, there are approximately 21 additional human clinical trials studying NR in various endpoints which are currently underway or have recently completed. To get details on human studies underway, see below or visit clinicaltrials.gov.

A randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial of nicotinamide riboside in obese men: safety, insulin-sensitivity, and lipid-mobilizing effects
A Study to Assess the Effects of Nicotinamide Riboside on Cognitive Function, Mood and Sleep in Older Adults
Study to Evaluate the Effect of Nicotinamide Riboside on Immunity
The Effects of Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide (NAD) on Brain Function and Cognition
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide and Skeletal Muscle Metabolic Phenotype (NADMet)
Nicotinamide Riboside and Mitochondrial Biogenesis
Study to Assess the Relationship Between Daily Dosing of NRPT and Changes in Liver Fat in Healthy Volunteers
